Where are your candles made?
All of our candles are hand-poured in small batches in Richmond, Virginia and individually packaged with care and attention just for you.
How long should I let my candle burn for the first time?
Did you know that soy wax has a muscle memory just like humans?! Always allow your HOME FOR SEPTEMBER candle to burn for a minimum of 3 hours the very first time you light it to ensure the wax burns from one end of the jar to the other.
What is a "heat throw" and a "cold throw"?
The phrase "cold throw" refers to the strength of a candle's aroma before it has been lit. Vice versa, "how throw" refers to the strength of the candle's aroma after it has been lit.
Why is my candle "sweating"?
After receiving your package in the mail you may notice small oil beads pooling on the top of your candle -- it may appear as if your candle is sweating. Soy wax is a natural material and extreme temperatures may cause the natural soybean oil to seperate from the solid wax and rise to the top. This oil does not affect the quality or scent throw of your candle in anyway.
Why should I trim my candle wicks?
Trimming your candle wick is a major key! Wick trimming is good practice to ensure a safe and long burn. Sometimes your wick can mushroom -- causing a small ball on the tip of the wick which enlarges your flame.
Do you ship internationally?
